Amy S. Ross, MD, FAAD, FACMS- MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Amy S. Ross, MD, FAAD, FACMS is a graduate of the University of Florida where she earned her bachelor’s degree in microbiology. After her time at UF, Go Gators, Dr. Ross attended Drexel University in Philadelphia where she earned her MD. After 10 years in Philadelphia, Dr. Ross finished her Mohs surgery training at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. She is double board certified in dermatology and micrographic dermatologic surgery.
Currently, Dr. Ross is a practicing surgeon on the west coast of Florida. Her medical interests include high-risk skin cancer treatment and alternative therapies for the treatment of non-melanoma skin cancers. When not seeing patients, she serves as the CEO of Dermatology Medical Partners (DMP). DMP provides administrative support to dermatologists so they can spend time seeing patients and not dealing with the burden of running a practice. She is fortunate to be able to travel to various clinic settings across several states. Whether in Austin, Texas, or Brandon, Florida, the message is the same. We take patient care very seriously and aim to make sure patients feel as if “they have never been treated so well.”
Outside of work, she actively pursues opportunities to give back to her community. She founded and supports the Captain Billek Foundation which raises awareness and funds for melanoma research. She has an unwavering commitment to doing what is right and is a volunteer at the Clearwater Free Clinic and The Faith Cafe. She serves on the Board of Directors for STAR Dental Partners, a high-growth dental support organization that provides best-in-class administrative support for dental practitioners. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of a leading non-profit independent school.
Dr. Ross is the proud mother of three children and resides in Tampa, Florida where she avidly cheers for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football team and the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Nicholas Castner, MD, FAAD, AACMS
Dr. Nicholas Castner is a board-certified dermatologist and Fellowship Trained and Board Certified in Micrographic Surgery.
Born and raised in Bradenton, Dr. Castner is a first-generation physician who was inspired to go into medicine and dermatologic surgery after a close family experience with skin cancer. Due to his background, he uniquely values each patient’s individual experience and hopes to put his patients at ease while providing them with the best quality of care.
Dr. Castner graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida. He attended medical school at the University of South Florida’s Morsani College of Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society during his junior year, the top academic honor bestowed upon physicians and physicians in training. While in medical school, Dr. Castner completed melanoma research at Moffitt Cancer Center. He completed his dermatology residency at Stony Brook University followed by a prestigious fellowship in micrographic (Mohs) surgery and dermatologic oncology at Mount Sinai in New York City. During this rigorous fellowship, Dr. Castner completed greater than 1000 surgical cases. Dr. Castner has accumulated numerous scientific publications, presentations, and lectures on the subjects of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer as well as reconstructive surgery, among other topics.
Dr. Castner enjoys lifting weights, fishing, passionately rooting for all the Tampa Bay sports teams, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and trying new restaurants.
Stanley Katz, MD, FAAD
Dr. Stanley N. Katz is a distinguished dermatologist with a wealth of dermatology and clinical research experience. He obtained his M.D. from New Jersey Medical School after completing his B.S. in Pre-Med at Muhlenberg College. Dr. Katz’s commitment to medicine led him to complete a rigorous dermatology residency at Cleveland Metropolitan General Hospital, where he later served as Chief Resident.
Throughout his career, Dr. Katz has practiced Dermatology throughout the east coast and decided to make Florida his home in 2003. In 2009, Dr. Katz voluntarily retook his board certification demonstrating his dedication to staying current in the field. His research endeavors have resulted in several publications, including studies on hyperlipidemia inheritance patterns.
Candace Staron, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Candace Staron, MSN, APRN, FNP-C is a family nurse practitioner with a passion for both medical and cosmetic dermatology and over 16 years in the field of Dermatology. Consistently, she prioritizes the patient experience which results in having a great rapport with her patients while delivering stellar care.
Candace holds a Master of Science in nursing from Purdue University and has enjoyed working in various positions within the field of Dermatology as well as performing clinical research and triaging patients for access within the Northwestern Memorial Hospital healthcare system in Chicago. Whether Candace is doing skin exams or performing injectable cosmetic procedures she works together with the patient to achieve their overall skin health goals. In her spare time, Candace enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, and doing anything that involves indulging in the arts which makes Sarasota perfect for her.
